Our Initiatives

TF’s Fire Station Initiative

Our mission is to promote Tierrasanta’s general welfare and interests through various community events that benefit the well-being and quality of life of all Tierrasantans. We raise funds by putting on events and then we spend the funds on initiatives that improve the community.

The Foundation started the Fire Station Initiative in 2018 to replace and improve the neglected landscaping of San Diego Fire Station 39, located on La Cuenta Drive in Tierrasanta.

Let’s “Fix-The Rec” at the Tierrasanta Pool!

Today, the Tierrasanta Foundation, in cooperation with the Recreation Council and the County of San Diego, announces the first phase of our fundraising campaign to invest in improvements at the Tierrasanta Recreation Center and the Tierrasanta Pool.

The pool is a valuable asset to the community but has begun to show wear and tear. In 2023, the Foundation contributed $7,000 for the purchase of new umbrellas and pool chairs at the pool. In 2024, we have worked with the Pool Manager, Stephen Yoo, and the Aquatic Division Area Manager, Kathy Castello, to identify sorely-needed improvements to the pool facility. And we’d like your help to make this possible!

TF’s “Fix the Rec” Initiative

Making improvements to the Tierrasanta Recreation Center and Pool.

The Tierrasanta Community Park & Recreation Center has been a mainstay of the community for over 30 years.

Tierrasanta’s Rec Center is in need of modern amenities & upgrades. To help with this TF just gave the City of San Diego a check for $7,000 to buy new tables, chairs and umbrellas for the community swimming pool.
